World Environment Day 2025

This World Environment Day 2025, I am filled with pride and purpose as we took a powerful step forward through Grandma's Green Weave Campaign initiative close to my heart and inspired by the beautiful recycling habits of my late grandmother.

As the founder of Sunshine Children for Change, I led this mission to bring sustainable solutions to the heart of our communities.

Today, we successfully distributed over 2000 eco-friendly bags made from old sarees, bedspreads, and donated fabric - lovingly repurposed to give them a second life. These bags were handed out to local street vendors at Sarakki Market in JP Nagar and Jayanagar 9th Block Market, spreading awareness about the urgent need to #BeatPlastic Pollution.

The bags, stitched with care and packed with purpose, were made possible thanks to generous fabric donations from kind-hearted residents across Bangalore.

Watching vendors replace plastic with these vibrant, sustainable bags was a moment of joy, hope, and impact.

Let's continue to honor our roots, our environment, and the generations to come. On this World Environment Day, I proudly raise my voice and my bag to say: it's time to #EndPlastic Pollution one reused fabric at a time.
