Under phase 3 of the Grandma's Green Weave project initiated by Manya Harsha as part of the SUNSHINE Children for Change Campaign, over 80 sarees were repurposed to create 1200 sustainable bags. These bags were distributed among local vendors in Jayanagar 9th block, 4th T block, and Sarakki market, with the aim of promoting the reuse, recycling, and refusal of plastic covers. Manya began this initiative in November 2023, on the anniversary of her grandmother's passing, who inspired her environmental activism. To date, Manya has distributed over 2000 sustainable bags made from sarees and bedspreads, making a significant impact on sustainable fashion and recycling at just 13 years old.
